Summer 2020 (ongoing / page under construction)
Every great disruption yields a great opportunity for change. COVID-19 has shown us that higher education needs to drastically adapt if it hopes to remain relevant.
I'm currently a product management intern for Duke Learning Innovation. In a small cohort of students, faculty, and administrators, we are employing elements of design thinking to create a better learning environment for Duke students given the contemporary COVID-related restrictions.
Deliverables:
- Adapting Duke University Online Learning for a post-COVID future
- Working with a team to design an application to "read the room" in an online classroom environment (understanding metric)
- Established a working partnership with Polis to aggregate in class data to facilitate open-source feedback loops

Prototype:
Zoom plug-in allows professors to "read the room" through a temperature-like gauge (regulated through a weighted distribution of student responses). This plug-in is linked with professors' Sakai/CampusWire/Slack and data is concatenated into a database.
